Yardbird Southern Table & Bar @ The Venetian

Southern cookin’ has arrived in Las Vegas, and it goes by the name of Yardbird. In case you’’re wondering, a yardbird down south is a domesticated chicken, and if you cook it right, it’s delicious. Located at the Venetian, Yardbird is a farm to table, southern dining experience made to order. Start with some homemade buttermilk biscuits with smoked brisket, crispy chicken or the preacher’s ham. The real treat here is, of course, southern fried chicken. Totally organic, brined for 24 hours, then dredged in spices and flour and fried to perfection. Put some collard greens or skillet cornbread on the side and wash it all down with a craft cocktail. You’ll be whistling Dixie in no time.

He lives in Los Angeles, but travels to Las Vegas at least twice a month to reboot. When he’s not writing, he can be found at the nearest pool bar, staying cool and perfecting his signature cocktail, the Midnight, with the mixologists of Sin City. He’s been known to disappear for days, only to return with a must-eat culinary gem, and while he believes nobody’s perfect, he’s pretty sure we can get damn close with the right pair of sunglasses.
